2006–09: Early work
In July 2007, Lawrence started her acting career as a teenager in the TBS comedy series The Bill Engvall Show, playing Lauren Pearson, the oldest daughter.[14] The series premiered in September 2007 and was canceled in 2009 after three seasons.[15]Lawrence was nominated for and won aYoung Artist Award for Outstanding Young Performer in a TV Series in their 2009 award show for her role, and was nominated for Best Performance in a TV Series (Comedy or Drama).[16][17]

Lawrence's lead role in Debra Granik'sWinter's Bone, which won best picture at theSundance Film Festival in 2010, is often cited as a breakout performance for her.[24] She portrayed Ree Dolly, a 17-year-old in theOzark Mountains who cares for her mentally ill mother and her younger brother and sister.[25] The performance was highly acclaimed by film critics. Filming for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, the next installment in the Hunger Gamesseries, began in September 2012, and the film was released on November 22, 2013.[53] It became a major commercial and critical success. Lawrence's portrayal of Katniss Everdeen won her praise from fans and critics alike. Stephanie Zacharek of The Village Voice wrote that Lawrence is "both on fire and in the process of becoming, and it's magnificent to watch."[54] Catching Firesurpassed Iron Man 3 on January 9, 2014, for highest box office earnings of 2013 in North America with $409.4 million.[55] Lawrence also played Rosalyn Rosenfeld, a supporting role in David O. Russell's crime dramaAmerican Hustle. The film, based on the FBIABSCAM operation, is set against the backdrop of political corruption in New Jersey in the late 1970s. Lawrence played the wife of a con artist portrayed by Christian Bale. The film also features Bradley Cooper,Amy Adams, and Jeremy Renner in principal roles, and was released on December 20, 2013.[56] Lawrence received critical acclaim for her performance[57] and was nominated for Best Supporting Actress by the Screen Actors Guild and the Critics' Choice Awards.[5][6] She won the Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress on January 12, 2014.[58] She also received the BAFTA Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role and a third Academy Award nomination, her first for a supporting role,[4][59] becoming the youngest actress to have three nominations.[60]

Filming was completed in 2012, and the film is scheduled to be released in 2014.[63] In 2014, Lawrence again playedMystique, in the film X-Men: Days of Future Past, with James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender. She will reprise her role as Katniss Everdeen in the film adaptations of the final Hunger Games book, Mockingjay. Lawrence will star in and produce the film adaptation of Claire Bidwell Smith's memoirThe Rules of Inheritance, directed by Susanne Bier.[65] In September 2013, it was announced that Lawrence was to star in the adaptation of the novel East of Eden with director Gary Ross.[66] The film is based on the John Steinbeck novel and was already adapted to film in 1955, starring James Dean.[67]Additionally, she was chosen to star in Burial Rites, a film adaptation of Hannah Kent's debut novel, where she would be joined again by Gary Ross.[68] She will also be starring inThe Ends of the Earth,[69] which is described as "a fact-based love story about a powerful oil tycoon who has everything stripped from him after he is caught in an affair."[70] In addition, Lawrence will play Jeannette Walls in the film adaptation of Walls' best-selling memoir The Glass Castle.[71] Lawrence will also reprise her role Mystique in the upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse.[72] Lawrence will be starring in her third collaboration film directed by David O. Russell, titled Joy, portraying the titular character, which follows the life of the inventor of the 'Miracle Mop'. The film is scheduled to be released Christmas Day 2015.[73]

Nude photos of Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence have been leaked online by a hacker who claimed to have a "master list" of images of 100 other starlets.
A representative for the star of "The Hunger Games" confirmed the photos of Lawrence were real and blasted the hacker for "a flagrant violation of privacy," adding, "The authorities have been contacted and will prosecute anyone who posts the stolen photos of Jennifer Lawrence."
The photos, which originally were posted on the image-sharing site 4chan, were purportedly obtained through a weakness in Apple’s iCloud online storage system, and a purported "master list" of the hacking victims includes the names of dozens of female stars, including Rihanna, Kim Kardashian, Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Mary-Kate Olsen, according to BuzzFeed.
It is not clear how many of the images are authentic, though "Scott Pilgrim vs. the World" star Winstead took to Twitter to denounce the hack as well.
"To those of you looking at photos I took with my husband years ago in the privacy of our home, hope you feel great about yourselves," Winstead tweeted.
However, Victoria Justice, of the Nickolodeon series "iCarly" and "Victorious," denied that the photos were of her, tweeting, "These so called nudes of me are FAKE people. Let me nip this in the bud right now. *pun intended*." Buzzfeed reported late Sunday that a spokesman for pop star Ariana Grande denied that purported photos of her were authentic.
